Who I Work With:

Those who come to see me are often at a crossroads, frustrated at how they are trying to deal with problems and seeking workable strategies and solutions to cope.

Therapy is meant to be a space to feel welcome to talk about thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are problematic. Understanding unhealthy behaviors, frustrations with life, and/or unsuccessful efforts to cope can help reveal the obstacles that may block the path to growth and desired outcomes.

Outside of work I enjoy

I cherish quality time with my friends and my beloved rescue dogs. I practice mindfulness and continue to deepen my spiritual practice anchored in Buddhist principles. I find solace and inspiration at the ocean — my favorite place to recharge. I embrace laughter, enjoy watching sitcoms, and participate in communities that foster connection and support.

A little about me:

I am Elizabeth “Liz” Locatelli, a therapist and clinical social worker based in Northern California — a region known for its diverse cultures, beautiful coastline, and the Silicon Valley tech community. I encourage clients to come as they are and openly discuss what is and isn’t working in their lives.

As a therapist, I believe that being practical, approachable, and open-minded are keys to building trusting relationships with clients. I help clients understand how problematic behaviors and beliefs are often disguised as attempts to care for themselves.

Working cooperatively with clients, I help clients to reevaluate whether their behaviors are consistent with their values and vision for their life.

I have over 15 years of experience treating adults and couples in a variety of settings including hospitals, private practice (both in-person and via telehealth), and judicial restorative justice and home-based settings. Additionally, I have worked with children and families who struggle with dysfunctional and abusive dynamics, and strained relationships among family members.
